Graham Myers
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, TEACHER, PERFORMER
Graham Myers was just 13 when he realized that people were less likely to beat him up if he could make them laugh first. Luckily, his parents signed him up for an improv class, and the path was set.
In 1999, he co-founded an improv group called table23, which humbly started performing for friends and family on any stage that would allow them. Over time, they gained a ton of integral relationships that allowed them to create a black box space called Second Storey Theatre. This little theatre survived because of the hard work of the community that supported it by volunteering countless hours to workshops, performances, and putting butts in the seats.
Beyond performing, he brings his height and a touch of grumpiness to the classroom, where he has a passion for teaching. He enjoys sharing the fun and benefits of improvisation and takes an approach that is both challenging and rewarding, using laughter and play to demonstrate the power of this quirky art form.
When he isn't throwing his body around with Improv Theatre or Very Very Improv (veryveryimprov.ca), you can find him driving his truck, yelling out heavy metal music, and damning the man.
